Last night at SERA’s 40th anniversary rally, Shadow Energy Secretary Caroline Flint MP launched the Hot Book, a series of essays on energy efficiency by authors including Alan Whitehead MP, Jack Dromey MP and Will Straw.
Pointing out the failure of the Government’s Green Deal, Caroline makes the connection between energy policy and the need to address the cost of living crisis. As she says in her foreword, “If done in the right way, committed action on energy efficiency in homes, businesses and other organisations could create significant environmental and economic benefits. It could help tackle fuel poverty and help people across the country reduce their energy bills.”
Covering such issues as smart metering, new build and the role of local government, the Hot Book is an important new publication the Labour frontbench team has produced with the support of Calor.
